This is my favorite tobacco to date. It has plenty of flavor and auroma but does not bite or offend anyone else in the room.

Nothing more than McClellands #2025 re-named.

Going through my notes & references, for those of you who may not already know, I believe this blend to be McClellands #2025 English Cavendish. I haven't smoked this for a while now simply because I have (like many of you) enough tins & pouches open to last me for months so I haven't purchased more of late. To quote McC., "2025 is a pleasant, rather light, broken small flake tobacco composed of lemon Brazilian & orange Middle-Belt leaf seasoned with enough Xanthi to be satisfying throughout the day without becoming tiresome to the smoker. This is a fine tobacco for those who crave a taste somewhat rounder than that of a straight Virginia". I found it to be a nice enough tobac that was easy to smoke and easy on the palate, but being a Va. Cavendish one may want to smoke this in a relaxed puffing cadence because it could get a wee bit hot. I gave it a "3 stars" recommendation due to the "tasty & flavorful, burns well, leaves the pipe clean, lightly sweet VA. flavor" notes that I gave it before. I'd consider buying more to try again as a mild change-of-pace smoke. Worked for me then, we'd have to see if it does now. See other reviews on the McClelland #2025 English Cavendish page.

This was my first experience with Xanthi laced leaf in quite some time. Unique, flavorful and easy on the tongue. An all-day smoke, for sure. My sample was good enough for just a couple of bowls and I'll have to order more.

Much lighter than many traditional English blends, this one held my attention without slapping me across the face. True to McCranie's form, the blend was made up of good quality leaf that stayed lit once fire had been set to it.

Let me repeat the word "unique." Give Canterbury a try.
