update, sept. 2010: Two years in a jar has worked wonders to this rope. It has developed all the fermentational notes you can ask for, and the taste is now full and rich. Do yourself a favour and order a load of it for jarring. Very highly recommended indeed.

Oh, and I don't think after all that it contains anything but pure unadulterated Virginia.

august, 2008: this is spun cut virginia, in the size i think is called "pig tail". it has a slightly smoky smell to it in the pouch, and not very much in the way of fermentation.

you have to rub it out a bit to make it light and smoke properly, but then it burns fine. the taste is dryish, with minimal virginia sweetness and some bite. IS it pure virginia, or is there some kentucky in it? i can't say, really.

imo it could do with a lot more fermentation. the other pouch will go into a bail top jar to rest there for a couple years.

so, not that well recommended for its immediate smoking quality, though it gains a star for being a very very pure tobacco.

and it's absolutely spendid for ryo, giving you a very old fashioned tasting virginia cigarette!
