| I bought this on the recommendation of Charles from Barclay and Rex. I always go by BR through NY. While I was loading up with my traditionals, Dunhill 965, Rattray's 7 Reserve, BR #6, a new one....McClelland's Venice Agonya....and a few others, we were talking about aromatics. I usually do not like them for two reasons...one they tend to burn hot and I am a puffer and two, they seem to be like having a dessert and not really like smoking tobacco. That being said, occasionally like a Vanilla blend (McBaren's and Nat Sherman's). Charles gave me a little stash of coconut to try.
Upon arriving back, decided I wanted a light smoke with some dessert flavor and loaded up a bowl in a medium Tsuge billard. The smoke was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The smell before lighting is like coconut and the blend had a nice burn throughout. Sweet but not overly so. The room note (although I can't really get the whole ambiance since I am the only one smoking) is nice. For those worrying about other "non-smokers", this will not offend...who knows, maybe even make a convert or two to pipe smoking.
I do not usually smoke the aromatics that I had in a briar but in a meerscham. This was good in a briar but think it would even be better in my meerscham so I will write more on this interesting experience. Am I turning into an aromatic lover? Going to a GL Pease Westminster later so had my dessert and will see how I contrast the very different experience. Usually always smoking a latakia blend and it is hard to think about doing otherwise for very long but for a change, this coconut was nice.
Second review: Smoked it in a Meerschum and it was great. The meerschum cooled it down considerably. Overed lots of smoke and a beautful aroma.
