Very flat, mild flavor. Vanilla and some dark bready notes. The only positive here is that the tobacco lit easily and stayed lit the whole time. Felt pretty wet out of the bag but hasn't gurgled. Very meh overall, I will use this as a blending agent.

I love aromatic tobaccos, BUT, this one is far to mild. It tasted and smelled more like steam than smoke. Almost no flavor or aroma. Not recommended at all, not even for new pipe smokers.

It may be my palate but I can detect no taste difference between this blend and the Peter Stokkebye's 201 Black Cavendish. There is a noticeable difference in smell (in the bag) but it tastes the same to me. Wonderful sweet "bubble gum" note, nice mild tobacco taste, and a very pleasant room note to boot. I fully enjoyed this blend and plan on adding it to my regular, everyday smoking. No tongue bite and a fair amount of nicotine. The smoke is mild and can be inhaled (for you cigarette smokers) so I would highly recommend this tobacco for novice pipe smokers especially those dumping cigarettes in favor of pipes. I had no trouble getting this to take a light and stay lit. It may have been my sample but it looks like just the right amount of moisture. Smokes well in briar and cobs, I enjoy this blend most in my smallish unfiltered churchwarden. Get a sample and try this tobacco, it is very nice.

This is an okay smoke. Rather ho-hum, lacking the 'presence' that Stokkebye's French Vanilla or Vanilla Cream have. It burns well, does not leave any goopy dottle, and does not bite the tongue. Novice pipers' wives/girlfriends may in enjoy the mild aromatic quality of this blend. Nicely priced.

A boutique tobacco with a lot of vanilla that comes across as actual vanilla. (Not cheap and waxy) I would recommend it to novice over drugstore vanillas.Stokes is cheap. i bought a batch once with chunks of mold in it.

this is not a bad tobacco at all, actually it's a very nice tobacco, it has a deep dark but sweet flavor, but unfortunately I have to compare it to both Gold and sweet Vanilla by P. stokkebye, and it just does't measure up to those two, specially the sweet vanilla. The taste is a bit too sweet and monotonous. It's kind of wet, and a bit too intense in the vanilla casing department, but still is nice to smoke a bowl every now and then, I tried a pouch once, and that'll be it, but I probably will keep buying the two other vanilla Stokkebyes.

Black Vanilla. Most likely good if your new to pipe smoking and your looking for a smooth cool, sweetish tobacco. Light's rather easily if you let the tobacco dry out for awhile, before filling your pipe. The taste of Vanilla is fairly consistant till 3/4 down the bowl,at the end of the pipe bowl you are left with a clean grey-white ash with very little goop,so long as you allow it to dry before packing the bowl. For an aromatic 8 out of 10.

This tobacco is a very popular brick & mortar store bulk blend, sold under proprietary names. It is the jet black tobacco that makes a PG and sugar smear on the glass canister. It is so wet that it is hard to burn.

That said, this isn't a bad tobacco, if your primary goal is to taste yummy vanilla casings, like a dessert. It seems to work best in a 50/50 mixture with something like 1Q, which improves its burning characteristics. Aromatic lovers and newbies would probably enjoy it, though less so than the equally-black Lane BCA, which has a slight lead on flavor. Oh, and this stuff smells fantastic, in the pouch and in the smoke. If you don't like it, you can keep it in your car as a long-duration sachet!
