| Blend No. 102 is an old school style aromatic by an old school pipe shop. Add that to the fact that the folks at Peretti's really know burley and it all adds up to a great blend. Blend No. 102 has a nice herbal light flavor to go along with a base of quality tobaccos. Any fan of the older style aromatic tobaccos should have this on the "must try" list; or if you want to venture out and try a lightly sweet aromatic unlike most on the market today, this one's for you. Recommended.

| This tobacco is a classic old-fashioned American "aromatic" Burley blend that was popular before Black Cavendish was invented. I would bet it is made of Burley, Virginia, a bit of Turkish and a dash of Latakia, all with a light top note. Medium bodied, easy and clean burning, with a pleasant aroma. Your dad's pipe (or your Grandpa's pipe) so-to-speak. In some ways this blend reminds me of Iwan Ries' Three Star Blue. Do try it if you are looking for a tobacco of this genre. Excellent quality from a blender of fine old-style Burley blends.

| I got two ounces of 102 in a sampler. I loved 333, and like Belmont but, 102 is a mystery. Light to the palate, but sweet to the nose. There's a complexity there that is hard to pin down. The cut packs easily and lights just as easily. The pouch aroma is a spicy sweetness that reminds me of holiday baking. While I'm not a fan of latakia, the addition of it in 102 is quite subtle. This could easily be a daily smoke. I plan to order a half pound.

| This is a silky-smooth American blend, with Turkish and a smidgeon of Latakia. The Burley base is superb. The proportions of condimental leaf make this a real pleasure. The cut is typical for Peretti's: I can scoop my pipe in the pouch, tamp, light, and I'm on my merry way! A very soothing blend.

| #102 is another one of the well-known burley blends offered by L.J. Peretti, a tobacco shop that has been in business since 1870. Their blender, Robert Peretti, has been at his trade since the '40s and legend has it that he has formulated more than 100,000 blends. Hard to find much more experience than that.
Peretti #102 appears as chopped cubes in the pouch with a very appealing sweet aroma. Packing and lighting are simplified by the cut, as a couple of scoops and a light tamping does it. One charring light later, you are on your way to a very pleasant smoke. 102 starts with a sweet note that stays with it all the way down the bowl. Although there is some casing, most of the sweetness comes from the burleys chosen. It is a wonderful taste that lingers after the smoke is over. As with Peretti's other burleys, this one burns clean and leaves no dottle.
Scores for #102; taste- 17 of 20; packing and lighting- 10 of 10; value- 7 of 10. 34 points equals a **** score for a very good blend.

| Grassy, haylike and almost herbal upon first light, 102 settles down in a very pleasurable smoke with the flavor and fullness intensifying as you progress down the bowl. Another great blend from the ?burley boys? at Peretti?s. All burley lovers are advised to try Peretti?s classic burley blends.
A cigarette is to be smoked. A cigar is to be enjoyed. A pipe is to be savored.
I rate this tobacco 9.0 out of 10.

| This is one one of many Burley based blends from this famous tobacco house that is easily an all day smoke. It's a granular cut mixture of Virginias, Cavendish, Latakia and Turkish tobaccos with just enough top note to stay interesting but never cloying. A great slow burning slightly sweet Burley type blend.
