This is a quality aromatic with pleasing flavor. If I still smoked aromatics regularly this would probably stay in my rotation if I could find it: the retailer/blender was prematurely scared off of the internet sales by the threat of selling tobacco on line.

It is pretty loaded with a humicant if you buy it in bulk.

I sure would like to find some of that Babylon that was marketed by Vegas Smokes.

The four currently available VegasSmokes aromatic blends (Brown's Special, Brown's Extra, Nevada 64, and Vanilla) are all decent aromatics, two or three notches above any of the McClelland aromatic bulk blends and five or six above some other mass blenders aromatic offerings. I got all four as a generous, 3 oz/ea sampler and will probably reorder one or two of them one of these days.

Despite all of the description of cocoa, chocolate, and vanilla, (which for most people is usually a sign of yet-another-Captain Black gooper) the casing is well controlled, or at least light in the humectant load. Comes through with a pretty fair tobacco taste-- mostly burley I think-- no tongue-bite and no excessive adulterant left to gurgle in the pipe. You don't have to be trying to please the spouse to enjoy the two Brown's blends, particularly. If you like honey, go for the Extra. If not, the Brown's special has a pleasant dark chocolate quality. These also go well as a Cavendish addition to a straight Virginia.

Brown's Special Blend is a highly flavored aromatic. If you like chocolate, this is the stuff for you. It's a bit less sweet than Brown's Extra, as the latter has some honey added for sweetness.

I compare this to Brown's other chocolate offering, because they are so much alike. Where "Extra" is quite sweet, "Special" has a hint of bittersweet, like a dark chocolate vs. brownies.

Like it's brother, I can smoke this in the house, in the car, wherever, and my wife never complains. I find that the flavor is more chocolaty than Cao-Cao Creme by Altadis.

Even though my preferences run toward heavy English blends, I do have a sweet tooth, and Browns satisfies.

The mixture is a bit damp looking, but it smokes just fine the way it comes to you. For such a heavily cased tobacco, it burns surprisingly well and not goopy. A light hand with the tamper is suggested.
