The Blender`s Pride - Green Gold
| Brand: |
HU - Tobacco |
| Blender: |
Hans Wiedemann |
| Tin Description: |
Calabria is one of the poorest areas of Italy and yet it possesses great riches. Calabria owes its fame to Green Gold, the fruit of the bergamot. From here, the tartly aromatic citrus fruit took off on its triumphal march around the world. The tart, acidic taste of bergamot perfectly matches the sweeter Virginia grades of “Green Gold“ Broken Flakes. The subtle and finely arranged bouqet gives “Green Gold“ its seductive, creamy taste. It makes “Green Gold“ Broken Flake an uncomplicated companion for any time of day. ...sweet, fresh, fruity - Chapeau Green Gold |

| After trying two other blend by this company, I find this blend not even in the same league. I sure does not match the description. I find it to taste just like any flavored Dutch style tobaccos but more loke an OTC version and not a custom blend. It smokes OK, but it does not excite, it is not creamy in the least to me, more a bland and rough tasting smoke. I don't taste the Bergomet at all in this blend. It has a sweet aftertaste but in truth, I felt like I eas smoikng a cigarette. It comes in a mostly medium brown ribbon cut, with a tangy pouch note. It does pack nice and easy and lites up easy, burning all the way down rather fast to a steel grey ash with little dottle. As it smokes down I don't detect any strenthening in flavor, it remains consistant all the way down. I tried it in all different pipes from cob to meers to briars, but it never married to one of them. I cannot in good faith really recommend this blend to anybody unless they like cigarettes, and for the price it costs, it is not a value even there.
