| The first visual/olfactory impression was terrible. A reddish/brown base, with very little black latakia specks. The tin aroma is not as stale and smoky as a true EM should be, but rather... biscuity! This is a typically Danish bland, too edulcorated and "user friendly". In spite of what they may say, this is NOT a medium English, it's a mild abomination! Let me have a stinky traditional EM instead!
From the charring light and for the first half of the bowl, the taste is bland, anonimous, dull. Typically watered-down and lacking in taste, as typical from many Danish offerings. The Latakia just raises its timid head once in a while, there don't seem to be any Orientals, and the little taste it has shows that same biscuitness you could smell from the unburnt tobacco. In the second half of the bowl, you may get some suggestions of Orientals and the body strengthens a bit. Still completely unsatisfactory, at least for my standards. The only minor positive note is that the biscuity sweetness turns slowly into a toasted sweetness which reminds me a bit of the infinitely superior Timm London Blend 1000.
At the end of the bowl I was wondering if I was sucking on the ashes or if it was the tobacco which produced an ashy-tasting smoke. And I was left wondering how they dare consider this an EM... and feeling my tongue slightly numb from the tongue bite caused by the blend and my failed attempts at getting some taste out of it.
