I found this tobacco to be the best that edwards has so far. (still need to try blue ridge) the cherry taste is smooth and not overwhelming for a new pipe smoker. I had to re-light quite a bit, and it does bite, but once I got it going is was a nice cool smooth smoke.

This is the only cherry blend I have tried which actually has any tobacco flavor. It gives off a unique, spicy, fruity, incense-like aroma which bystanders adore. An all-black, rough-cut aromatic with a strong, dark burley base, it bares no resemblance to the ubiquitous vanilla-flavored black cavendish (aka Lane's BCA) which many pipe smokers start out with. I find it a bit difficult to get lit at first, but after a few lights, it burns cool and slowly due to the large cut. The flavor is also very unique in that it isn't very sweet or cherry-like but rather that of tobacco and molasses with a bit of citrus spice. This may sound disgusting in print to smokers of non-aromatics, but in reality it is very tasty. The smoke itself has good body and volume. I prefer to smoke this in a straight-stemmed pipe as the smoke really tickles the nostrils if the bowl is right underneath my nose. As the essences burn off throughout the bowl, the burley flavor comes through more and more. Like most burley blends, the bottom of the bowl can get pretty harsh if puffed too vigorously. The wonderful aroma lingers after the bowl is finished, but it doesn't become stale like cigar smoke does. Unlike most aromatics, this one has quite a kick, so look out! I consider this to be one of Edward's signature tobaccos. For those who don't like cherry tobacco, Edward's Buccaneer is basically Toasted Cherry minus the citric essence. Available from Edward's Pipe and Tobacco of Denver
