| I recieved this tobacco as a selection of free samples the last time I bought a pipe from Synjeco. It's a different kind of aromatic - not danish, not german, not american. Lots of flavoring, but entirely natural.
I choose to try this as I was intriqued by it being their only aromatic that was all virginia and no burley. This is an area of or genre of tobaccos that I'm particularly interested in.
The tobacco is all virginias from various regions with the addition of black cavendish. It appears to me that the black cav is vanilla cased and is held separately until final blending. The virginias [all four] seem to be top noted with a fruity essence and then mixed with the black cav.
I think the idea behind this blend is to create some complexity by the tobaccos chosen, the way they are flavored and the way it's blended. I only had a 25 gram sample, but it was very consistent from beginning to end.
I choose to put this tobacco in the medium flavored category, but it is more fully flavored when new. The flavoring dissipated after a short while and it became quite ageeable. I would recommend airing out for 12 hours or so and then seal it up for smoking.
Tobacco burned quite well and left no dottle or goop behind. This is a very good fragrant all virginia and I plan on smoking more of it in the future. There is still an unconfirmed rumor that Schurch tobaccos will be making their way to the US and this is the only thing that has stopped me from buying any bulk quantity.
