This blend has a good initial aroma when the tin was first opened. The can I purchased was of very suitable moisture content and packed well into the bowl. flavor and room aroma both are very pleasing. This tobacco smoked relatively cool with very little after taste. This is a good everyday blend

I recently stopped in at a new tobacco shop in the area and was disappointed to find that most of their pipe tobaccos were of the drugstore variety with a couple of exceptions. A package of unrubbed dark navy flake and several 50 gram tins of Petersen & Sorenson Scottish Blend. I had plenty of navy flake so not wanting to walk out empty handed, I bought a tin of the Petersen and Sorensen.

I really can't say I experienced any of the problems alluded to in the other reviews. If anything the tobacco was a bit on dry side for an aromatic and I no problems with lighting and once lit, smoked all the way to the bottom of my Brebbia Churchwarden leaving only a bit of light grey ash. The vanilla casing was easily detectable with kind of fruitish aftertaste.

I don't smoke as many aromatics as I once did, and although this blend is not the best I have ever tasted, I really can't find all that much fault with it. Who knows, if you're an aromatic smoker, give it a try, it just might be the one you've been looking for. 3 stars.

This came very wet in a plastic bag which hardly filled up half the tin. I had to dry it in the sun for quite awhile. Its got a plum type sweetness. Not much else going for it. I'd strongly suggest you opt for Peterson's Gold Blend instead of this one, if you're looking for a fruity vanilla.

09-24-04 Still on the search for the perfect aromatic!

Appearance and Tina Aroma: Mostly dark brown and black medium ribbon. Smells like Vanilla and some sort of berry.

Packing and Lighting: For an aromatic easily packed and lit.

Initial Flavor: Tart Berry, leaf is muted.

Mid Bowl: This is turning a little bitter, the vanilla is a little more noticable.

Bottom of Bowl: Bitter! Burns to ash with no fuss and very little dottle.

Overall: Well, not as good as P&S Premium. It might be the casings were not to my chemistry. It does have a wonderful room note though. Also, it can be provoked to bite. After half a tin in several pipes, I gave the rest away. I wont be trying this one again.

Rating: 2 out of 5 points.

Talk about wacky 'baccy! I'm not sure whether this blend is even made anymore and if it isn't, I can understand why.

I purchased a tin of this offensive weed a long time ago and only semi-recently popped the tin. I thought this was a true Scottish type English blend. Instead, it was an aromatic that reeked of Vanilla in both taste and aroma.

If you enjoy Vanilla flavored blends with a Virginia rather than Burley base, this might be a good one because the leaf is of fine quality. It is rather coarse cut though and that (along with the moisture content) made it tough to get a nice pack job. The taste really put me off and I couldn't even complete the bowl. In fact, after sniffing the contents in the tin I almost didn't load up. This one might be a great gift to open and then place in your wife/girlfriend's underwear drawer.

It smoked hot, too.
