Rubelite

Brand: Schürch
Blender: Hans Schurch
Tin Description: This is a truly beautiful mixture to look at: A wide range of colors (from very bright to jet black) and cuts (including rubbed out flakes and Black Cavendish). The pouch aroma tells you that this is not a lightly flavored mixture; it smells of fruit and molasses. It's very easy to pack and light, and it burns very regularly and effortlessly. The taste is very pleasant, with a combination of sweet and sour, but it is the former that is dominant. The room aroma is very, very pleasant, with a touch of nuttiness and fruitiness. Due to the wild cut, it is an ideal tobacco to smoke on a windy day outdoors. What is impressive is how consistent the taste and aroma are till the very bottom of the bowl! If you like Rubino, you're bound to enjoy this one.

I don’t often find the blender description to be dead on, but Hans Schurch’s description of Rubelite is close to dead on. The pouch scent is lemony/citrusy with some brown sugar. At the moment, It is my second favorite aromatic from Schurch, maker of some wonderful English blends. It arrives with the need of only a small amount of dry time. The smoke is less citrus and more toward the same flavor offered by Rubino from the same blender. Both Rubino and Rubelite are very different than most aromatics found here in the US. Rubelite burns dryly and leaves no goop whatsoever. The flavors are constant throughout the bowl and there is no chemical taste or bitterness. Like all of the Schurch blends, the tobacco appears to be of very high quality. If you are a fan of Rubino, than this is a must try. If you are looking for a different type of aromatic that isn’t dominated by wet black Cavendish, both of the aforementioned blends will fill the bill. Personally, I enjoy Rubino a little bit more. Recommended.
