| The description as I have discovered with the Boswell's is far more different than the product results. I just recieved a pack from them which contained five tobaccos: Northwoods; Paradise; Berry Cobbler; Rasberry Cream; Pom Holiday. Of all I tried the Pom Holiday was the most pleasant to smell and taste (which wasn't much better). All of the others produced very weak flavor with a pronounced, poor burn. They burned very hot, you know... and bitter. They must be paying for the good reviews (which some do)...what a crock. My advice try as many different brands as you can and narrow it down to three incredible blends...but this Boswell's is crap. Lane Limited since 1890...BCA...OMG...what an amazing bowl this is. Rich, creamy and FULL of flavor.

| Extremely mild, slightly sweet. Not much taste at all. Wife says it smells sweet. No aftertaste. Good social blend.

| This is not BCA. It is dry for Black Cavendish and not overly sweet. Downside for me is not really sweet enough on its own. Upside is no bite no gurgle and does not give me a sickly feeling. All in all this is a pleasant smoking experience. Suitable for public smoking. I liked it and will use it as acondiment component for some heady English mixtures. all in all not a bad smoke. 3 stars

| This blend reminds me of a rougher version of BCA which I like. It looks the same, a very dark black cavendish in a large ribbon cut with a Vanilla backdrop and tasty very much like a toasted cavendish. Between the two, I like BCA better, it's smoother, dryer and less hot. But this is still a decent blend. it comes at a good moisture and packs and light easy in the pipe. It did require several relights for me as I smoked it, as it burns very slow. The flavor does get stronger as you smoke the bowl down, and burns to a dark frey and black ash. It is not goopy, but it does leave the pipe smelling like it for awhile. I think this would be a good mixer with a PA like tobacco. Not Bozewells best product so I would say if you like this type, smoke BCA.

| This was my first aromatic tobacco, I am a relatively new pipe smoker so I can't say I have a very refined taste. But as such, I find Boswell's Paradise extremely, EXTREMELY satisfying. I absolutely love the vanilla taste. It's not too strong but not undetectable, but then you start to smell the room note and it adds the perfect touch. At first, I found it somewhat iffy in it's tobacco strength, but after I let it sit for a few days it got infinitely better. It is now my favourite tobacco, but definitely take that with a grain of salt since I'm fairly inexperienced. It stays lit pretty well, better than most blends I've smoked, but I don't think theres a chance of it staying lit all the way through.
Incredibly satisfying. Very tasty, if a little bit mild on the "tobacco strength".

| My least favorite of all the Boswell blends, which are great blends. The room note is great, but other than that, I found the flavor a bit too mild, and really not much of a vanilla flavor. You can definitely taste the Black Cavendish, but it seems like the same Black Cavendish you buy in bulk at the drug store. If you want a pleasing smoke, with just the right amount of vanilla, try Boswells Christmas Cookie. No bite to this one however, like you get from other vanilla blends like Borgum Riff or Altidis (ouch!), just not enough of anything to make it interesting.

I'm updating my review and giving it 3 instead of two stars. Over the months, I have gone back and forth on this one, and have noticed, as it's been given time to age, I like it more. I can see what some of the other reviewers are getting from this blend. I must have received my pack of this when it was freshly, blended. I'm not a Vanilla freak, but the casing on this one has become more evident as time goes by. If I really liked a plain Vanilla tobacco, it might even get 4 stars from me.

| This smoke is just ok for me. My first impression was not very good. It seems to be a very light smoke with a sweet vanilla flavoring, without any tobacco taste. I did not touch the bag for a few months and came back to it. It was better the next time, but still nothing that I loved. If your in the mood for a sweet smoke that doesn't taste like tobacco this may be something you'll enjoy.

| A very good aromatic. Boswell definitely holds a monopoly in great tasting aromatic blends. This BC blend is a little lighter in taste than Xmas cookie but very wet upon opening. It does bite a little but not very easily, just be aware! Taste and smells of vanilla so expect a pure Vanilla smoke with no other surprises.

| I've always been pleased with the Boswell's fantastic aromatic blends, but this one was like sipping some sort of vanilla-flavored syrupy liquid through a straw. While the flavor and room note are in the very least pleasant, it is overwhelmingly sweet. I probably won't smoke this again. However, if crazy sweet tobaccos that have no tobacco taste are your cup o' tea, have at it.
Also, as some other reviewers have mentioned, I had quite a time trying to keep it lit. Don't know if letting it dry out would help, but based on my experience with this blend, I probably wouldn't take the time to do so.

| I personally don't like this blend, i feel there is far too much vanilla, if this is j.m.'s idea of paradise he took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. hard to keep lit, won't ever purchase again.

| This is the first Boswell Blend that I have ever had the opportunity to try. I have to say that right out of the shipping box ( which it arrived at my door quickly ) was intoxicating. I wasn't sure if I should eat it, or smoke it. I decided to smoke it.
The color is a black in hue. The mositure is balanced perfectly. Absolutely no tounge bite, none what so ever.
I would recommend this to anyone. Probably one of the best I have ever smoked. It is one that is a top favorite. I must confess the only reason that I didn't give this blend 4 stars is that it is rather one dimensional. Still my favorite Vanilla Blend

| I have three Boswell pipes and have yet to be disappointed by any of them. However, for whatever reason I cannot get their blends to burn cool. Paradise must be the standard Lane BCA or close to equivalent, but from the fine folks at Boswells it turns into a blowtorch for me. I've tried a lot of their blends, but I cannot get them to work. And that's kind of a disappointment, since their Pennsylvania Dutch Treat smells so darn tasty!

| Black Cavendish at it's best. This is a good all day smoke. Not sticky, lites well and burns even to the bottom of the bowel. I like it and plan on keeping it in rotation. Priced at $2.20 per ounce and a good value.

| I've read reviews on many tobaccos and have tried my share based on those reviews. I learned to love Navy Flake that way. Paradise is what the name says. Paradise to puff and savor. NO bite, and believe me I tried to make it bite. I can be a little over the top when it comes to testing a tobacco, I admit. I have smoked nothing but Peterson's (system and non-system)so a cool smoke is obviously what I am after. Paradise is cool in a stubby corn cob. A few smokes later I packed it in my favorite Peterson and it only got better. I then packed it in a new Boswell; it smoked and tasted like a drink of Samual Smith's Nutty Brown Ale at room temp. Smooth, full and rewarding. I will try all the Boswell blends, keep them in rotation and buy more than a few of their pipes. If you are in a rush for a short smoke or you just want to lay back and think about a whole lot of nothing for a good long while, Paradise is a smoke to consider. Four Stars.

| I ordered several Boswell Blends to try and this one is definatley Mcclelland's Vanilla Black Cavendish. I have the Boswell sample next to my Ball Jar of VBC and they are the same blend just renamed. Good stuff though, check my review of this blend under Mcclelland VBC. VBC is also present in their Chistmas Cookie blend. Perhaps half VBC and half 1-Q
