first i would say ,,latakia? i dont think it is there or may be in a percentage tht really hard to get,,other than that V is there over whelming the burly effect,,the cavendish implies its sweetness for sure vanilla can be tasted in the first puffs down to half of the bowl,,burns well with few tamopings turn into white ash,,croud pleaser,,a gud pace of change

From a novice reviewer's (and pipe smoker's) point of view this is a very agreeable tobacco.

Sufficiently strong to present a nice and tasty smoke, if a bit on the lighter side. Then again, that's my preferred style now. The taste is quite well balanced and presents new, differing notes as you go along. Elegant is a word that easily comes to mind.

There is an undertone of something roasted or just catching fire -- like heated wood -- which is a nice thing to me. If you wish, you can detect a roast coffee-ish taste as well (or maybe it's the wood thing on a different day).

The Vanilla casing is quite, quite mild, but adds somewhat to the overall impression. Nowhere near the tone of, say, MacBaren's Vanilla. (Even if it is aromatic) this probably would go well with those preferring the English blends.

Burns pretty dry and burns well, not too hot. Didn't bite me.
