That?s me: Old Mike. Perhaps old before my time but sorry, Starbucks and dry cleaning establishments on every city street corner don?t particularly inspire me to think young. Pouch aroma is amazingly flat and gives no indication of the burning pleasures forthcoming. There is untreated, unsweetened deer tongue in this blend, but it?s coy and will not readily introduce itself to you. When it does though, it will not seer your tongue like Pipes and Tobaccos? 'Old Tartan' version or C & D?s ?currently? excellent though impossible to keep lit 'Crooner' (who knows, that could be a VA/Perique blend since the last tin I?ve bought - also I'm noticing a pattern here with regard to name: 'Old'). The signature Fader?s Cavendish adds the crowing finish. Fader?s of Maryland is rapidly becoming my go to tobacconist. Though not wowed with everything I've tried, so far, nothing causes disappointment or frustration. It?s a whole lot better than much of what?s out there.

Four and a half of five stars

This is truly a work of tobacco art! The Deer tongue is sparingly applied and does not inspire Vulcan to go on a rampage in your mouth. It is naturally sweet and herbal in quality. It lends a mellowing effect to the generous amt. of Latakia in the blend. I would imagine that this is an example of what "Aromatics" used to be 2 generations ago. A very satisfying and mellow blend.Should you order from Faders, you must purchase some of this. Everybody will like it -including those around you. A solid 4 Deer Tongue stars!!!
