This blend is everything its touted to be. A wonderfully sweet, spicy, and room friendly Scottish mix. Can't imagine not having this around for regular moking- My rotation is getting large... :)Its just great stuff. Like the other GFO blends, It shines after some drying time.

Having this in my New Cauldron shellcraft- I can't taste much Latakia-so it must be blended in there well. The overall effect is really very different from most anything. If you added a bit of sweetness, and improved the roomnote of MacBaren Scottish mix- You would be close. Frankly I like this better.

Its hard to distinguish any particular component except maybe the red Virginia and Perique until the last 1/4. Then the burley comes out. Which was actually a nice turn. No bitterness. Just a great bowl.

I did have to relight a few times, and even after 24 hours it still took a couple swipes with a pipe cleaner....But those are extremely small prices to pay.

Fluffy white ash ends the bowl. No dottle. DGT did no harm, Came back and it was as good as it was when I left.

Mike- You struck gold with me on this one too. 4 stars for the Old Man.

If you would like to try some- E-mail Mike at admin@grayfoxonline.com Highly recomended.
