Nice Oriental blend. Compares favorably with other such blends, but I prefer Pipeworks' #10 and the Oriental blended by Campbell's Smoke Shop in East Lansing (stop there, then leave Spartan territory and head for Wolverine country...Go Blue!)!

In the pouch, it looks like a pretty varied concoction with several different types of tobacco leaf. But that doesn't fully transfer to the palate. Needs a bit more complexity to rise to the ranks of stardom. Still a solid smoke.

Couldn't add anything descriptively beyond Noorrmm's review. Will say that I'm someone who prefers my latakia blends on the milder side and this blend is just fine in that regard. Also I appreciate a good burley and knowing how good their Blue Grass Melody was as to burley, thought I'd enjoy this blend due to burley & was not disappointed. For those that like a lighter English/Balkan-type blend, this is a fine smoke. Obviously could be an all-dayer for the lataki-inclined, though for me I'll save it til the pm while I stoke up on Blue Grass in the am.

I like simple smokes with just a little flavor. It is very popular where I have been buying it. I have bought it quite often now so I must like it more then a little. I had to change my earlier review because I just keep buying this blend. At first I felt that the blend didn't really work in harmony but I just had to smoke it often enough to understand it's music. Burns well with a decent real tobacco room note.

Appearance: Nicely cut ribbon mixture, showing full range of colors.

Aroma: Moderate amounts of spicy and smokey aromas over a nutty base. Little or no Virginia ripeness to the aroma.

Packing: Packs easily into any normal size pipe. A little care not to overpack, as the ribbons are soft and pliable.

Lighting: Lights quite easily, sometimes with one match.

Initial flavor: First flavor on my tongue is Oriental and Latakia, but not overpowering. The base stays in the background initially. After a minute or so, the flavor of Burley becomes noticeable.

Mid-bowl: Soft nutty flavor of good Burley starts to become more dominant, while the condiments continue to toy with my palate. Can be enjoyed without paying too much attention to it. Burns cool at reasonable puffing tempo.

Finish: Ends quietly, not much change in taste or increase in strength at the end. Dry, clean dark gray ash, typical of Burley.

Summary: A very pleasant blend for all-day if you like a Burley base. A good companion for doing tasks, as it isn?t demanding.

This is Guy W's house blend. It's essentially an english with oriental leaf.I believe the idea here was to have a Dunhill's "Apertif" flavor. It just misses for me.It does however have a great taste and is a nice change of pace from time to time.Oriental and Balkan fans would enjoy this baccy... prep
