| I have no idea how old this tin is, but I haven't seen any available in close to 20 years. The tin was sealed but this had dried out considerably, although it was still smokable without rehydration. It looked in the tin like your basic tobacco shop bulk English, and it tasted like that as well.
Nothing wrong with this one. It smoked like any standard lighter English you may have picked up over the years. A mild sweetness and a smokiness that rules the proceedings. The orientals stayed well to the background but were noticeable. It was a decent smoke but it wouldn't fare well against the more complex and flavorful english blends of today, which may be why it's been discontinued. It certainly doesn't have the fullness of body nor the precise flavor profile of its old stablemate, Crown Achievement. The best I can describe this is that it was probably a Lane bulk that they stuck into a tin in order to attract an aficionado audience and charge more. Nothing to see here, and no reason to choke off your Ebay budget.

| Another player in the English/Latakia field. This is a good, middle of the road English, though there is nothing to separate it from the field. I would probably have trouble differentiating this from any number of other blends I've tried in the past year. Worth a try.

| I recently scarfed a 20 year old tin of this blend off ebay. I am told it is no longer being manufactured. I don't know whether that's true or not, but If it isn't, I understand why.
Medal of Honor is an unremarkable English blend, and has a most unusual taste in that all of the components produce a rather flat, unsatisfying sensation. The room note caused the wife to send me into the garage with the dogs.
This blend was very dry, but again, the tin was 20 years old and that may have had something to do with its lack of moisture. It packed well and smoked cool.
If a bold taste is what you gravitate toward, this old classic will miss the mark. If you prefer a light latakia taste with an unusual twist, try to find some of this stuff. It will be worth your effort and money - I guess.

| A good light English mixture that I enjoy even though I usually smoke aromatics. Not overly strong, not cased at all - just good, honest, high-quality tobacco in a great blend.
