My only tim of Mallard arrived as a present from my daughter from a holiday in Poland. This is very smooth but lacks a nicotine hit. Very pleasant especially in the car - kept me sane in a long traffic jam but not a blend I would normally smoke being a fan of strong flakes - which can be a bit harsh in a car.

The discription of Mallard is a dark Virginia mixture aged in cake form, than spun out into easily packagable ribbons. The mixture is ready for your smoking enjoyment. A smooth and mild Virginia mixture.

This reminds me of some of the McClelland Virginia Blends when first lighting it up.

The first portion of the bowl was like a very mellow sweet Virginia that required very little attention.

Towards the middle of the bowl the Virginia presents itself with a little more taste, although, a little more attention is needed at this point with some tamping.

Getting towards the bottom of the bowl I tasted a little sweetness from the Virginia yet not overwhelming. The mildness of the blend seemed as though it presented itself with a little more robust in the flavor.

I did not notice any tongue bite or harshness from Mallard as it is a mild Virginia Blend.
