| Grab a tin of this while you can! This is one fabulous tobacco offering from a name not usually associated with superior quality. In fact, one would never know this was a BR tobacco if smoked on a blind tasting. I hope that the blenders Scandinavian Tobacco Group take a cue from this remarkable creation and start producing blends of this quality regularly. Anyway, on to the review.
The presentation is beautiful. From the classy looking golden can with a lighthouse relief on the snap lid to the subtle nautical theme on the label, this blend already prepares you for "the glow of discovery" before you even crack it open. Upon opening, you're greeted by an intoxicating fragrance of spices and rich fruits. I can't quite place what it is but it smells vaguely of cloves and cinnamon. Either way, just smelling the tin for few minutes is worth the price of the tobacco. No drying out necessary as the tobacco is just right. A nice assortment of ribbon and leaf cuts, golden and black.
Lights up nicely after the initial false light and stays burning until the end of the bowl. The spice and fruit flavors come on strong and stay pretty consistent throughout the smoke. Not overly sweet but leaves a nice taste of vanilla and clove in the back of my throat. Burns down to a white ash with no dottle or wetness at the bottom of the bowl by the end.
Overall, a delicious offering from BR that really stands far beyond its less than favorable reputation. I was right to buy two cans to store. Regardless of what you may think of BR, do yourself a favor and try LE 22 while it's still available.

| This tobacco was something I found on cigarbid.com. Yes the addictive CB is now offering pipes and pipe tobacco. As for LE 22; this is a marvelous blend. I was very surprised as BK has a rep as a very nasty drugstore tongue scorcher. The description of LE 22 though intrigued me and I picked some up on a bid. What a pleasant surprise! This is not a heavily doused, goupy aromatic. the taste is that of a round Burley, enhanced with natural acidic sweetness of a bit of tingly Virginia, flavored with a mild, creamy topping. I don't know if a discern the taste of "exotic tropical fruit" at all, but the topping or casing is very nice and not at all overpowering. I experienced no tongue bite, but I understand that one shouldn't chug away but should sip a tobacco like this. The room note is very pleasant and echos the pleasing initial opening tin note. If you enjoy quality tobacco at the heart of a mild aromatic pick up some of this while you can. Highly recommended.

| With this new offering, Borkum Riff becomes the equal of superior aromatics of the likes of WO Larsen in terms of quality, good taste and burning qualities. This tobacco is beautiful, presenting various cuts - loose, ribbon, coarse and broken flakes - and colors range from golden to black. In the tin, a remarkable aroma of dried fruits and vanilla which is delicious. The tobacco is ready to smoke as it is on the dry side with minimum humidity. SE no 22 is an excellent aromatic tobacco that combines good taste of the casing and great burning qualities. It will not bite unless you push it. It has the merit of being much richer in taste and nicotine than tobaccos like Larsen and I can percieve some pure tobacco taste here and there. No 22 smokes to a gray ash, burns dry and leaves a nice fruit & vanilla smell in the bowl. You might want to dedicate one pipe to it to avoid the cross over problem.
Truly, a remarkable offering from Borkum Riff. I believe that ST Group managed to bring back from disgrace (due to ill advised previous owners) some of our favorite aromatic classics by making them high quality products.
Cheers and do not fear the name Borkum Riff on the label, gents. just try it!
