| Good evening gents. I like it.I think it is much better than squadron leader, but not nearly as good as dunhill standard mix .That being said you can't get it any more.I likes it but it is pricey.I think i'll take it over MC 2020 also now that is still on the market. It has a start and a good finish.Give it a try if you can hadle the english what can you lose?Well maybe five bucks.Well got to run good luck with them smokes.

| I'm sure I will end up editing this view after I have tried more English blends, but so far this is it. The tobacco seems to be of good quality and the smokiness reminds me of Lapsang Souchong tea. The flavor was outstanding compared to cased tobaccos that I had been smoking. There aren't many frills to this tobacco, but the flavor is still miles above drugstore blends. I would recommend this to any new pipe smokers as an introduction into English blends.
A WORD OF CAUTION: Smoke this tobacco slowly and carefully and it will remain cool and flavorful. Smoke it fast and it will singe the tastbuds right from your tongue.

| I received a rather nice 4-pack gift set as Altadis's free sample. I was expecting some zip-lock baggies of assorted blends, so this was pretty impressive from the start.
I do not have a very discerning palate when it comes to latakia + oriental blends (they all taste/smell about the same to me). However, I do like them for a change of pace. In that regard, I think this was a very acceptable tobac; it burned cool, tasted like latakia and has that nice woodsy room aroma. It reminds me of their Count Pulaski without the anise oil.
I would agree with Pipestud that the description above is incorrect.
I'll give 3-stars as it has no bite and a good flavor.

| I believe the descriptive above for Jamestowne Tradition English is actually the descriptive for Jamestowne Tradition Aromatic. I've had both as Altadis sends monthly offerings to my pipe club.
The English version is a mild English, with a noticiable amount of Latakia and Orientals of mid-grade quality. It burns very well but there are stems in the pouch that need plucking.
For the frugal among us, this is an inexpensive light English that will not bite and is more smooth than harsh. If you like your Latakia in heavy doses, this one will not please you.

| Ok it is from Altadis, so it is not going to be the cream of the crop. It is an English tobacco sure but cased, why? I think that this tobacco would have been far better if it were not for the casing on the black Cavendish. Also where is the latakia?
