Tin Description:

A fine dark Cavendish is aged in Whiskey casks obtained from a famous maker. After the spirit has thoroughly penetrated the leaf is blended with the mildest strains of Virginia and Burley, with the addition of an exotic fruit dressing. The result is a golden and reddish brown blend with a tantalizing aroma in the tin. The burning aroma is like a rich Virginia, but with a breezy freshness.

Some time ago Ed Burak asked me to try this blend since he knew I enjoyed Peterson's Irish Whiskey. I did give it a try but found very little in common between the two. Peterson's Irish Whiskey has such a delicate misting of liquor it can go unnoticed. Not so with Irish Whiskey Aromatic. The alcohol enhanced aroma and taste are noticible from the initial lighting. Because Burak knows the difference between goupy aromatics and and more natural tobaccos, he instructed the blenders (just guessing here) to go easy on the gas. They did and it shows. Still, too aromatic to suit my tastes despite its light and no bite presentation.
