Harrod's Cabinet Blend
| Brand: |
James Fox |
| Tin Description: |
A light blend of Middle and Old Belt Virginias with both Perique from South Louisiana and a selection of rich Oriental type tobaccos. Distinctively aromatic, the mixture is lightly laced with genuine Jamaica rum to evoke and sustain it's pleasing piquancy. Available at Harrod's only. |

| This is the best, in my opinion, of the three Harrod blends. The rum flavoring is very noticeable and tasty. The perique is moderate and the orientals come to the fore. The nicotine content is not overpowering, but noticeable. The ribbon cut provides for a cool smoke. I smoked this blend a long time ago and don't recognize the blend as it is today. It is supposedly blended by James Fox for Harrod's and exclusive to them, although McAhey also lists the Harrod blends for sale on his website. The tin says that it's made in England. The tin is red, which may be of importance, as the name is covered by an anti-smoking warning sticker. The other two Harrod blends are green and purple. I will definitely order more of this. It will not replace any of my other favorites but will make a nice addition. I think this blend will stand the test of time, but I'll update in the future.
Update: March 31/06
I added 8% cigar leaf and 2% more perique. Excellent
