I'm presently going through a bunch of old tins of Dunhill. This one I should have skipped. It's a terrible tasting pseudo-aromatic that does absolutely nothing right. It's not a decent virginia with a good choice of top note, nor is is a decent aromatic with a little unflavored virginia or burley to smooth and dry it out. It's simply a garbage blend that Dunhill slapped together to make headway into the aromatic-smoking American market, and it failed miserably. May it rest in peace forever. The other poster was correct; if you simply MUST smoke an aromatic with the name "Dunhill" on it, try the Gold Blend instead. I wouldn't call it good but it's way better than this.

I guess I am a little surprised this tobacco has never been reviewed due to the fact that so many tins have been sold on Ebay the last few years. It has long since been out of production.

This was a tobacco blend that was passed around four or five years ago at one of my pipe club meetings. It was a rather mild and unobtrusive aromatic that several of the club members (aromatic smokers) really liked. I personally found it to be smooth but dull and the flavoring was strange (apricot, perhaps?) It was not a particularly sweet taste, but not tangy either.

If you do enjoy just a smidgen of fruit flavoring in your pipe tobacco, Dunhill's Gold Blend (if you can find it) might just be a good choice. It was fully rubbed out and the ribbon leaf was short and thick, which made it easy to pack and smoke. I am sure the tin we smoked was quite aged, and perhaps that is why it was such a mellow smoke.
