| 50gr Tin: looks very nice, but IMHO not as practical as the normal 'Dunhill' type tin. Tinnote: spicy, strong, not sweet (that's a compliment), natural tobacco smell, great!
First time I bought a tin in november 2009 the tobacco was rather moist but immediately useable. Second tin bought in january 2010 had rather dry contents, but also ready for immediate use. The first tin tasted more mellow though.
Taste: a bit salty, which I like, pure tobacco taste, nose tingling a bit..
Roomnote pleasant for me, my girlfiend hates it though :)
In short a highly recommended Dutch tobacco!

| Sir William English Latakia is one of a range of six tobacco's from Dutch cigar manufacturer Vantas. Whether they have blended it themselves is not certain, as I have noticed the almost exact same ingredients description under "Ilsted English Latakia". Not that it greatly matters though. The rest of their range comprises a lighter English, A Virginia flake, two Aromatics and one "Special Blend". In the description you'll read: "a good amount of tangy oriental leaf" and the word "tangy" is of paramount importance here, for this is one tangy tasting blend! Perhaps the small quantity of Perique has its influence as well, as this also has a tanginess. On opening the attractive airtight sealed tin you are greeted by the typical black/gold medium ribbon cut that is representative of these blends and the lovely smell of Latakia/Orientals. Smell a little deeper and up come the dark fired Kentucky and small amount of Perique. With so many dominating fragrances the Virginia is overwhelmed but it is there to be sure. Smoking this blend is a rare pleasure, a full smoky and very tangy experience, a very harmonious bouqet of flavours and fragrances where the Kentucky and Perique hold it all together. Burns cool as well and with hardly any bite. This fine, tangy blend is seriously recommended! Rob
