Fader's is a local tobacconist chain in the Baltimore, MD area. "Danish Flake" is their house name for Altadis/Consolidated #506: Sweet Danish Slices. I've posted this review under that tobacco, as well, minus this introductory paragraph.

This tobacco is a pleasingly presented broken flake bulk blend. It's an Altadis light aromatic of decent quality. The broken flakes are mottled medium brown and have a smell reminiscent of Lane 1Q, but more subdued.

This blend is best smoked fully rubbed out. It's primarily a Virginia/Burley blend with cavendish. If there's Turkish tobacco here, I can't taste it. Perhaps the flavoring overwhelms the subtle note of the Turkish. Whatever the case, the overall impression is of an aromatic burley blend with a touch of Virginia sweetness and tang.

The blend isn't unpleasant to smoke, if you're careful. This tobacco does have a tendency to bite hard if you aren't careful. As the taste is mostly burley and cavendish, it's easy to forget that there's a fair amount of Virginia in the blend. The resultant tongue bit has been described as "smoking a blowtorch", and that'd be accurate.

Overall, it's a decent light aromatic tobacco which I keep around for those moments where I want such a thing. The room note is similar to 1Q, as well, but it provides a bit more real flavor than 1Q's pallid taste. I'd recommend this to fans of vanilla/nougat aromatics who want a little more oomph in the tobacco flavor department.

A nicely prepared flake which smoked cool. However, rather than complementing each other or becoming more prevalent during the smoke, the tobaccos in this blend just resulted in a taste that I didn't enjoy. The aftertaste was also strong and ruined the smoke.
