| I love visiting Dan Pipe; the visitor can try all their tobaccos and gets free coffee, plus the chance to talk with the people there who make the pipes and tobacco happen. This time around, I tried this. I consequently bought a tin.
The tobacco really is more a broken flake than a ready-rubbed; bright VA all through. The tin aroma does have a good note of chocolate in it, but the chili is only marginally present. The flake bits may need to be rubbed out a little for a good burn.
Once lit, the blend burns quietly, needing very little maintenance. The strength increases a little with the progress of the smoke; the taste shows off a little chocolate throughout with the VA dominating, and the promised "fresh" note comes through pretty well in the room note.
For me, this is only the second VA flake derivative from Dan Tobacco I really enjoy (the other being Gold of Mysore). They hit the jackpot with this one, though.
