|After trying several of Dan Tobacco's blends, I get the impression that their blenders have an uncanny knack (with one notable exception) to make tobaccos which stand out by not standing out too much.
Opening the tin, a gentle, grassy VA aroma caresses the nose, and the tobacco is more ribbon cut than ready rubbed. One may also wonder why they call this blend "Copenhagen Cavendish" because I cannot detect much Cavendish in there; just nice, pure, very bright VA.
CC packs easily (and one should not pack it too tightly), lights easily, burns easily, it is mild, mild, mild but with a good amount of flavour. Burns coolly, the taste is coolly sweet and bright with a hint of citrus in it, the room note is bright and dry though nothing especially noteworthy. Another one I could smoke all day, no rough edges or peculiarities in there.
So far, this is the coolest-burning VA I have had the pleasure to try. The taste develops a little during the second half, but is never overwhelming. I would highly recommend this tobacco for beginners - it's mild enough and easily maintained and I think it would make a great introduction for novice VA smokers.
