Barrow's Goldeneye is a full latakia blend with a subtle sweetness and moist texture that reminds me of McClelland blends. There's no mystery in this, as they produce all of Dave's blends to his specs. BG is a little harder to keep lit than some tobaccos, due to the moisture level. There are other English blends that I prefer to this one, but this is still a good tobacco worthy of your consideration.

Barrow's Goldeneye from Bufflehead is a top-quality "high horsepower" Latakia blend., and an interesting smoke. It always seems to start out mellow, almost bland, but then deepen nicely as the bowl progresses. It can also be smoked at a decent pace without problems but, if one gets in too much of a hurry Barrow's Goldeneye will behave more like Barrow's Rottweiller. If so pushed, BG will not only bite with vigor, but leave an aftertaste that could turn one away from this very good tobak. I smoke BG infrequently simply because "Pintail" (from Bufflehead) and Dunhill's Standard Mixture Medium suit me better personally. But there is a good supply of BG within reach and I doubt that will change anytime soon. Barrow's Goldeneye is a mucho Fun smoke and easily earns its' three stars. Try some - for Fun.

An excellent latakia blend with a unique sweetness. Not an aromatic sweetness or a sweetness from flavoring, but a natural sweetness that I find most interesting. I have experienced this same taste in only two other blends, PCCA's Syrian Star and Full Balkan Reserve Syrian. The PCCAs are blended by McClelland. Buffleheads proprietor tells me that this blend is also prepared by McClelland. The sweetness that I describe is less noticeable than PCCA's FBR-S.

That all being said, this is one of my favorite latakia blends. It has a distinctly different flavor than most strong latakia blends. The tobacco comes on the wet side and needs to be dried to burn well, but once at the proper humidity, it burns quite well.

If you like your latakia strong and flavorful, but with other elements coming through, give this a try.

This is available in bulk and Bufflehead will can it for you at a most reasonable price.
