I had never heard of Boswell's until a few weeks ago. I noticed that everyone was smoking their pipes! So...I had to wait and find a pipe on their web site I liked. I found one, called them up and they were the best. I orderd a couple 1/2 lbs. of this blend and Christmas cookie.

The Premum Burley is FANTASTIC! I am a Burley smoker from way back and I think I have now found the Burley tobacco I can settle down with for as long as the Good Lord let's me live.

Billows of mellowy goodness. No bite to be found, and the taste is nutty, roasted peanuty, creamy caramel Burley.Ahhhh. The Boswell's may end up in my will.

I recently smoke this with a nice cup of cuban coffee and it was excellent!Cafe Pilon and Boswell Premium Burley. I would say mild in strength, but medium in flavor. The aromas are the best! Nice full smoke fills the air with authority, I love it! Boswell does it again!

As far as Burleys go...This one is top notch. I can compare the taste of this blend to a fine hazelnut coffee. If you enjoy sweet nutty flavor, with no bite at all....give this a try. It has a nice full flavor, and left the pipe nice and dry in the end.A nice room note as well...not over powering in any way. Another fine blend from the good folks at boswell's.

This was one of the first pipe tobaccos that I tried and continues to be one of my favorites. It's light, but still flavorful. The cavendish comes through, but does not take over from the burley. It's slightly sweet and just plain wonderful. Unless you prefer heavy tobaccos, I would highly recommend this.

I just love this tobacco! It is incredible :-) I have tried some other Boswell blends and enjoyed them all, but this one is one that I will get all the time. (I will say though that I really like the Northwoods too.) I am very thankful for the Boswells. They are great to do business with.

I enjoyed this blend very, VERY much. Don't know why, but this was a great "outdoors" smoke. Not too sweet, but not in the least bit bland. It had a touch of caramel that was very faint, but was there seemed to be a prevalent toastiness with each draw.

Had no problems with excessive moisture or goo in the heel of my pipe and it burned to a fine white ash. I'm used to smoking primarily aromatics (I'm a fairly new pipe smoker) and, while this is considered an aromatic, it was a nice break from the sweeter blends that I've tried.

I think this might have to be a keeper in my rotation. Another winner from JM Boswell!

A burley.now what can you do to a burley that i have not seen in 50 yrs of pipe smoking? YOU CAN IMPROVE IT!!! clean smooth tasteful no bite piece of heaven all the way down to the bottom of the bowl with no bitterness.well i lived through p.a.d.having to build a large cabinet for pipes ,then tobacco.well now i have to get over all those people that willl never know how good this burley is in a pipe. this is a must have.5 or 6 lbs. anyway.thank you! all you BOSWELLS.Thankyou! by the way.this is not even close to lanes burley light.while good, and i buy it. burley light is its own burley and used widely for blending other blends and smoked alone by many. boswells burley has a one of a kind taste, being subjective,it has all of the overtones.

It tastes, looks and smokes like Lane's BLWAB with a small amount of black Cavendish thrown in. Two stars for lack of originality.

Just received a pipe back from Boswell after having been fitted with a new stem. Included with it was a sample of Boswell Burley. As a burley smoker I was anxious to try this blend and was quite pleased. Mild is the word-no tongue bite whatsoever. Excellent room note and great taste. Highly recommended.

I have only been smoking a pipe for about 10 months now, so excuse my lack of "pipe tobacco vocabulary" in describing this tobacco. I received this tobacco along with a pipe I purchased from Boswell's- in fact, my first briar pipe. I didn't smoke but a bowl or two when I first received this sample bag, but eight months later I have discovered what an enjoyable blend this is.

Being a cigar smoker for years I instinctively sought out stronger tobaccos such as those with latakia in them. The past month or so I have learned to slow down the smoking and enjoy some of the milder blends and even some aromatics. Looking into my tobacco "treasure drawer" I found this bag of Boswell Burley and decided to give it a shot since I was breaking in a new pipe. This has become a really enjoyable afternoon smoke for me.

I was actually surprised at how little moisture was lost while in its zip-lock baggie after 8 or 9 months. There is a subtle sweetness and nuttiness, but not overpowering. The room note not too strong either. For those looking for a good burley blend, give this one a try.

Boswell's Premium Burley in the pouch has a mixture of brown burleys with some black Cavendish mixed in. The pouch aroma is a pleasant sweet smell that reflects its' nice room note. The cut is a chopped ribbon that packs and lights well with good burning characteristics.

BPB has a burley nuttiness with an overlying sweetness that is very pleasant to the taste buds. The taste stays pretty consistent most of the way down, with the sweetness perhaps fading just a bit in the bottom of the bowl.

Pricewise, BPB is reasonable for a high quality blend at $1.95/oz. J.M. uses very good leaf in his blends.

Scores for BPB: taste- 17 of 20; lighting and burn- 8 of 10; value- 8 of 10. 33 points equals a **** score for Boswell's Premium Burley. It is now a staple in my tobacco cabinet.

Boswell's Premium Burley is the correct name. I ordered this and a few others that I would like to review but still aren't listed. At Any rate BPB is a very good all day smoke. With an aroma that is not to offensive to the non smoker. The flavoring is definitely there but dose not kill the burley taste. The flavoring as with all Boswell blends have a sweet and Carmel taste but very soft. I feel that this gives Boswell blends their own character. This flavoring can be found through out all his blends but a at different levels. All according to the type of blend. The cavendish gives this blend a very mild tone. The nicotine level is not very high at all. Which some burley smokers might find a turn off. The aroma is close to that of Captain Black but a bit more chocolate or Carmel fragrance. A truly goo blend. I smoke burleys and this I would consider a light burley. Not as smokey as Granger. I do recommend this blend for those getting away from aromatic blends and for those who wish to smoke something lighter then a Virginia or English Blend. For the Burley smoker this is definitely a must have. Look for my other reviews of burleys coming soon. Pipes And Cigars own house blends. As soon as I get them and some them I will post them

What a great tobacco... The tin note is earthy, but sweet and of caramel. The tobacco is very easy to light and takes no other lights to keep it going. The bowl starts out with velvety smooth somewhat creamy smoke with mild hints of chocolate and nuttiness. As the bowl progresses the cream texture continues and you get the true burly flavor. As for the Black Cavendish; the progression of the bowl does not amplify its flavors, but just adds a bit of sweetness that really compliments the two burley's. This blend was given to me in a box pass but I think that I will buy some soon. It makes a great morning pipe, low maintenance and mild.

JM Boswells 1st true burley blend and right up there with what I expect from him. Great flavor right from the start, smooth and even buning, lights easily. This is a blend that you can smoke in public that will get good comments . Has a nice nutty slightly chocolate flavor. This will be a regular in my rotation and at 1.85 an ouce its very afforable
