The tobacco is very light colored, with alot of pressed VA's in the mix. Comes rather damp and needs a good rubbing before packing.

The taste is sweet and citrusy, after half a bowl I felt like I had been sucking on a lemon. I really couldn't even detect the Latakia in this blend. I could see it, but I could never taste it.

Rich in flavor? Well, no. I ended up puffing this quite hard at the beginning looking for some flavor. Rich in dimension? Ummm, no. It went from light lemon to overpowering lemon. The mouth feeling was very acidic, perhaps due to said hard puffing initially, but it sure didn't lighten up when I did.

There's just not enough dark leaves in the bag to rescue this overpowering VA blend. I might use this tobacco to mix in with some of my darker Latakia blends to lighten them up, perhaps even to balance out some of the more alkaline blends in my collection, but not only would I not order this again, I'm not ever looking forward to smoking it straight again.

I have generally liked the Pipe Room's tobaccos, but this one was a solid miss.

Smells mild with a promise of creamy natural sweetness in the bag. Once lit, the Latakia makes itself known, mostly in the room aroma, although not so strongly as to be unpleasant, with just a hint of campfire smell in the billows of smoke. This one is good for those who like to play hobbit and blow smoke rings. Taste, while not unbalanced, is lacking something in richness. Perhaps I just would like something stronger. (I'm a cigar smoker who loves Ashton Aged Maduros.) I have experimented with mixing some burley and/or black cavendish with this blend, hoping to round out the flavor.
