I agree with the previous two reviewers. The description sounds so promising but the taste simply doesn't deliver. In this case, I think there's too many tobaccos and they cancel each other out. I found little to no flavor in this blend, and I think the conceptual overrules the reality here.

On the good side, this is a very dry smoking blend. Whatever the aromatic agent is, it's applied with a very conservative hand. Unfortunately, none of the component tobaccos pick up the slack. It tasted like warm air - no real flavor to speak of. Try this one if you want something very mild and don't want too much flavor.

Sorry, I just don't get this one. I got drawn into this blend by the description.Red Virginias, Orientals, Perique, you figure you can't go wrong here. All the different elements just don't seem to meld into a cohersive blend. The flavors seem to be confused and muddled. It's not a bad blend but there are just so many better ones sitting on my shelf that I will never reach for this one. I will just let this one sit for awhile and hope it improves or I just will use it for blending. Why do I have a such a tough time connecting with any of the C&D blends?

OMG This is one of the best tasting, best smoking blends I've ever tsmoked. This has got to be one of C&D's best. If you're a fan of aromatics or VA Pers you'll enjoy this tobacco. When I first got the bag it looked to me like a bag of black STUFF. I mean that's the only color I noticed at first glance was the black cavendish. When I opened up the bag I was very happy with the aroma. Sweet and spicey. It's cut very well and it loads up great. The moisture was just right and I didn't let it sit and dry at all. Upon charring light I got a mouthful of happiness. I could taste each individual group and has the perfect amount of perique. When I started sipping away (which I recommend because this stuff will burn hot if you hit it hard) I got a good hit of the cavendish, sweet and nutty with the orientals cushioning it and a little tease of perique. The aroma was sweet and very mellow the way a good tobacco should smell and it's very easy on the tongue and throat. Half way through the Orientals stood out a little more with the Kentucky leaf which is a very nice bonus. I was amazed by all of this so far, I think I've found my standard all day smoke. The strength started to increase a little but not overly strong. I'd say it's got a great nicotine hit to it. Towards the bottom the perique keeps you company and it's a delicious sweet and spicey taste. Kinda made me think of Juicy Fruit gum for some reason, the sweet and sour taste maybe. I took a big hit off my pipe at this stage and my head went reeling. Wow, this stuff's got a sneaky little kick to it. I'm more than pleased by this blend and I was smiling and giggling the whole smoke and I was kind of sad when I finished the bowl because it was so fun and enjoyable to smoke. I'm gonna by a couple of pounds of this stuff. I'm craving it now.
