I lived in NYC for the 1st thirty two years of my life and often frequented this shop.It was always warm, inviting ,and friendly. It is now owned by Davidoff and has been yuppified but is still quite pleasant.De La Concha always had excellent English mixtures. This is probably their best . I would imagine that their base tobaccos are C&D as they have that particular taste to them. This is a VERY AMERICAN English Mixture. Heavy Latakia and Heavy Burley. This is not COUNTRY DOCTOR but more like Mountain Camp by C&D. It is very cool and very rich. I think that is the Latakia/Burley combo hitting you with the Virginias in the background. Better than most bulk English blends and reasonably priced. Room note leaves something to be dsired. Get this along with WAR HORSE. 3 stars.

I purchased this fine English Blend 30 years ago when I resided in N.Y.C. Iwas intrigued with its excellent taste and even burning in the bowl.At that time the Dunhill Blends were plentiful and the Dunhill stores in London and N.Y.C. were preparing the fabled custom blends . But this blend obtained in the LaConcha Store located on 6thAve (now Ave. Of The Americas) was so superlative that I eagerly bought it again and again. It is still the same delicious flavor and I can not say more about it except if you try it and you like English Blends you will not be disappointed. There are few things that you love in life that remain the same and are not altered by someone. This great tobacco is one of them.
