| This is a very enjoyable "light latakia" English blend. The Orientals are predominant, but what I like is how the latakia is always present throughout the bowl---even though this is a light latkia blend. Very nicely done. The latakia perfectly spices the orientals and virginia. It's been my experience many of the "light" latakia blends I've tried often the vitamin L winds up being almost non-tasteable. Not this one.
I was going to give this blend three stars. However, this morning I smoked a bowl on the back porch, on a beautiful summer morning, drinking coffee and reading the paper. The belnd was just excellent!
For what it is worth, this is my fiftieth review since I started moking pipes back in 2008.

| The Virginias give a tang at the beginning, but then give way to the other tobaccos. Smooth, medium strength, just the right amount of sweetness, a delightful mixture. A good, solid change of pace smoke. Another fine example of blending skills from Peretti.

| A great blend for anyone looking to try an english. It has a touch of spice and burns slow and cool. Peretti makes an english 220 that is outstanding for those that like a stronger smoke. All in all no. 110 is a very relaxing and satisfying choice.

| This reminds me very much of a local mixture here in Chicago called Jack Schwartz Mixture by the shop with the same name. It is very Dr. Bradley-esque only without the Anise flavoring added. The best description I can offer is a very "DRY/SWEET flavor. It is fully English yet has a pronounced sweetness to it. Not FMOT or Germain like- but sweet. A very full flavored mixture for the Latakiaphile looking for a change of pace. 3 of 4 Crossover stars!

| The guys at Peretti's do prodigies with Burley blends, but the magic touch does not cross-over to their English menu. With the exceptions of Royal and D-9507, Peretti's English blends are competent but not exciting. There is an unfortunate "generic" quality throughout the range.
English No. 110 is not a bad smoke...once I get by the initial ferocity of its bite. I expect the high Virginia content accounts for this. It settles down quickly, though, and remains docile throughout the bowl. The blend burns well and packs a sufficient nicotine punch to satisfy that craving. But that is the only one.
The composition of English No. 110 is similar to the old Dunhill Standard Mixture--Mild, though without that blend's piquancy and delight. The Presbyterian Mixture of thirty years ago, which bore NO resemblance to today's iteration, was the blend by which all mild English tobaccos should be judged.
But since both the old Standard Mixture--Mild and the real Presbyterian Mixture are no more...I would recommend Peretti's Prince of Wales as a more distinguished and interesting representative of the genre. Also, GL Pease's Picadilly is a wonderful light English.

| This is one of those blends that helped me cross over into English Blend Country many years ago.
Upon opening, one is greeted by a predominatley brown english cut, interlaced with lighter and black tobacco cut in the same manner.
The aroma is that of a light-spice and woodsy scent. The blend packs easily into the bowl and at most, needs just one re-light. In the initial quarter of the bowl the orientals seem to lead with virginia and latakia taking a back-seat. By the half-way point, a certain sweetness has crept in but not in an overpowering manner, it just lets you know it is there.
Although the "boys" at L.J.'s would not divulge the exact tobacco used to accomplish this, I am thinking it is a matured virginia that does the trick here.
In the last half, the orientals start to drift a little farther back and the latakia becomes more apparent.
This is another one of those Classic Blends that L.J.'s does in such a Terrific, Balenced Way
