| The kinda but not really good looking platonic female pal who likes you more than you like her and she's always there when you need her. She'll never hurt your feelings. Might get annoying if you smoke it too much -- "Why am I doing this?" Everyone needs EMP in their rotation.

| a must try.
i got a scare because the first couple of bowl were unpleasant, with all the components closed and giving a sour, spiky smoke with little going on. much like a closed wine.
luckily the tin came into its own shortly after for a smoke i can only describe as complex, deep and comforting.
on the downside, the tobacco dried up rather quickly and the last few bowl were burning out quickly and with somewhat less complexity.
perhaps a bad patch given the early scare and the late disappointment?

| This is a great mild English blend that is good for any time of the day, not just the early morning. This is the first English Blend I have ever tried, and I found it to be fantastic. Now I am wondering why I never made the jump from aromatics to English before this!
I definitely recommend this to anyone that is considering trying an English for the first time. Don't let the smell of the tobacco in the tin fool you, it tastes and smells nothing like what you would expect from the smell of the tin. Think mild cigar for the room note, and simply good natural tobacco, with hints of sweetness and a very light hint of pepper for the flavor.
A decent amount of vitamin N that aids in the relaxing nature of the smoke without being overpowering.

| STRENGTH: Mild to medium tobacco strength. Very high in nicotine, especially towards the end of the bowl.
TASTE: Satisfactory flavor and mild-to-medium complexity. Clean, natural tobacco aroma with a nice hint of spice. No artificial flavoring detected. Tolerable aftertaste.
EASE OF SMOKING: Very easy to smoke. Stays lit and smokes cool and dry, with no tongue bite.
OTHER: Tolerable room note. Fine ash and tolerable smell left in bowl.

| This one did not agree with me. Tin smell was nice/mild, started mild, but as smoking went on it became harsh. It might be me and I'll continue trying it. Maybe I'm missing something.

| As scores have noted before me, a nice, mild English blend. I really don't get much Oriental flavoring, and so was not really 'into' this blend, as it was not what I expected. I wasn't so much disappointed in the actual blend, but for me, as I said, the Oriental components were very understated.

| Orlik's new version tin. A purposefully lighter kind of Standard Mixture. The Virginias to the forefront, a light Oriental and Latakia presence complements this offering. I get a tangy, slightly sweet with woodsy undertones, cigarette like tobacco taste. A light Latakia mixture that fully deserves its name and could easily be used by neophytes to the world of pipe smoking.

| My favorite "light English" is Skiff Mixture. This is a little milder, even more on the light side of the scale than Skiff. The proportion of Latakia is just right. The Virginias are somewhat lost in the Orientals. There is an ever present sour undertone. But overall it is exactly as advertised. It will never threaten my romance with Skiff. It will not replace Presbyterian in my rotation; but Orlik's version of this classic recipe is a fine morning smoke, an excellent all-day mild English.
For a "mild" smoke, I recommend this above Dunhill Standard Mixture Mellow.

| Oh, my beloved EMP. I am an unabashed Dunhill fan, despite the warnings of those who remember the 'good ol' days.' Yes, I understand that Dunhill ain't what it used to be, but I'm living in the present, and what it is is pretty damn good to my palate.
This is my go-to blend. I have an old painted tin that I constantly refill from a big sealed glass jar. I buy it by the pound. I take it almost everywhere. The girlfriend loves the smell, and even loves the flavor when she enjoys the occasional pipe (once every three weeks or so).
So, what does it taste like? Great nutty flavor, some say too nutty. I say, perfectly nutty. Goes well with your morning cup of joe. Great after-breakfast smoke (or any meal, really). I love to relax in my chair, stuffed full of eggs and english muffin, and enjoy the interplay of orientals with VA (very subtle, to my taste). Just a sprinkling of latakia, methinks? But enough to be a great all-day pipe. Doesn't bite or wear out your palate with its intensity.
For some reason, I enjoy this in straight pipes (a Peterson Dublin, or a Savenelli billiard are my preferred pipes for this blend). Burns all the way down to the heel of the bowl if sipped properly, leaving a fine white ash and a satisfying buzz of N.
Five stars.

| Love this blend. Semisweet. Mellow. Just the right amount of latakia. Lokning forward all Day to sit Down and enjoy this blend. I writer this ón an IPad so pardon the Strange spelling. Complimented Troels Mikkelsen from Orlik ón their job in making EMP (we have kids in the same School). He was pleased....puffing away ón red Orlik.

| I really like this tobacco. Needs to dry out a little before smoked. I let mine sit out overnight. It's not the most powerful or flavorful, but it's a quality, tasty tobacco. This is my everyday smoke.

| If you're looking to move beyond aromatics to dabble in the realm of the English blend, what better way than to purchase a tin of Early Morning Pipe from one of England's most renowned tobacconist names? Dunhill is as synonymous with tobacco as Nike is with athletic footwear. It's the perfect place to start when seeking an introduction to English blends.
Early Morning Pipe is great on its own, but I found it wanting a little help from its big, grizzled brother, Nightcap. Adding some Nightcap to Early Morning Pipe is like putting a leather jacket and red bandana on Basil Rathbone...
About a month ago I found myself in a curious predicament: I had half a tin of Dunhill Nightcap and about three-quarters of a tin of Dunhill Early Morning Pipe. The Nightcap was a tad too strong, the EMP was a tad too soft. So what did I do? I mixed them together in a large mason jar with the intent to establish a nice medium-bodied Dunhill English. And the result has been absolutely wonderful! Matter of fact, it's the blend I smoke most often.
I've ingeniously dubbed it: "Early Morning Nightcap."
So if you, like me, find Early Morning Pipe to be ohhhh soooo delicious but maybe a bit too soft, mix a little Nightcap in there with it, christen the blend "Early Morning Nightcap," and there you have it, a beautiful Dunhill medium-bodied English blend that smells and tastes as good as you could imagine.

| It is good. Not your typical English, as the Virginias are pronounced and the Latakia takes a back seat, theroefore extremely mild. Good quality and for an early morning, it is recommended. A slow start to a great day...

| Dunhill's Early Morning Pipe wasn't my first pipe tobacco, but from the day I first smoked it with coffee in the morning, I haven't missed a morning since. Packing is easy and not critical. It often burns to the bottom of the bowl on one light and burns cool unless abused. As a wake-up for the taste buds, it's perfect. Lots of smoke and great taste. For a few, it might be an all-day tobacco, but it can't be for me. After breakfast and later, I want increasingly stronger taste and fuller body, and if I smoke it after stronger tobacco, EMP seems a bit bland. It would be good as a non-smoker's first pipe tobacco. EMP serves the purpose for which it was blended excellently, though, and I can't imagine a wake-up without it.

| My favorite English blend. Superb.
While not predominately an English smoker, if I had to pick only one, this would be it.
