Argento Negro

The best option of the brand Argento, a tobacco that can be for day to day at a very economic price.

The mixture is fairly balanced and very well done. The smell once opened is a fermented, overhanging the roasted Cavendish. In the mouth it feels quite roasted and of a moments giving its bitter notes the Latakia next to the smoke, that in spite of being minority within the mixture, helps to give more complexity to the flavors.

I agree with the other reviewers that this is the best of the Argento blends by quite a margin. The aroma when breaking the pouch seal was superb and although mine came moist I had no problem lighting it. Despite not being a great latakia lover I'm glad it's there as it just adds an extra dimension and compliments the other leaf flavours. They are able to shine without being overpowered by the latakia which so often happens among the better known latakia blends.

I crave this blend so much I'm going to give it the high score it deserves.

This is the best option that Argento has to offer. The price of the pouch is cheap (around 70 pesos -3.5 USD-) compared to the imported brands that have prohibitive prices for pipe smokers without much money to spend. When i opened the pouch it released a fermented aroma. The latakia flavor is very faded, and does not become present as one would want (I'm a big fan of english mixtures with a good dose of latakia). This is a complex and tasty mix, ideal to enjoy all day long. It produces little bit of moisture, and burns evenly. Personally, i like this blend and i always have one at hand. The price is fair, and you get what you paid for, neither more nor less.

Esta es la mejor opción que nos da Argento. El precio es barato, mucho más si se compara con los precios de los blends importados que tienden a ser bastante excesivos. El Latakia está presente, pero de una manera "aguada". Es una mezcla con matices interesantes y sabrosos, ideal para disfrutar en el día. Considero que es un buen blend para tener a mano, y de hecho siempre tengo uno. El precio es justo, no espere la complejidad de un blend Dunhill o SG, pero aproveche la oportunidad de probar un tabaco distinto.

Very good blend of burley and criollo with a hint of latakia. Packs well, lights easy. An atypical blend that is worth trying especially being an OTC blend.

Definitivamente la mejor mezcla de Argento.

Al abrir la bolsa nos invade un aroma fermentado, rico, a aceitunas negras. viene bastante seco, con lo cual prende muy fácilmente y no se suele apagar si no lo descuidamos.

Se compone de burley y latakia, eso sí, cantidad minima de latakia, si tuviera que decir un porcentaje diría 5%, pero esta pequeña cantidad, a veces se nota muy bien; con notas a cuero y humo. Pero la estrella de esta mezcla es el burley: achocolatado; como los granos tostados del chocolate;con notas de café y aceituna negra.

En fin, es una gran mezcla, eso sí, seca, amarga, madura, sabrosa. A mi me encanta y fue mi primer Argento, lastimosamente probé los demás... si quieres probar otro Argento es mejor que compres otra bolsa de Argento negro o tal vez algunos de los aromáticos (Whisky y chocolate) pero aléjese del natural.

Creo que este Argento negro no tiene nada que envidiarle a mezclas importadas más caras, estaba fumando SG James flake y sinceramente me quedo con el Argento negro (Aunque en el mundo del tabaco no se trata de quedarse con uno, si no combinar varios para no cansarnos)

Bueno, lo estoy fumando en pipa de maiz y creo haber sacado algún que otro matiz; el burley o criollo que se usa tiene cierto dulzor característico que nos acompaña, el sabor es chocolatoso con toques muy leves de aceituna, la latakia se hace notar en breves momentos con un gusto ahumado. Lo mejor es el último tercio, que el burley se vuelca a un sabor más rancio y con un sabor más presente. Creo que por el precio merece 4 estrellas

Un tabaco con una relación precio calidad inigualable. Como dicen otras reseñas es lo mejor de esta casa, pero atrevería a decir que incluso está a la altura de tabacos muchos más caros que consumimos habitualmente. Hay quienes dicen que esta mezcla contiene tabaco criollo, si es así nada le resta, el resultado me parece feliz. Su toque latakiado lo emparenta con las mezclas inglesas/americanas, aunque claro está que aquí no hay virginias (lo cual tampoco es pecado). Es una mezcla recomendable que se puede fumar y disfrutar sin problemas ni culpas. Un buen producto de los llamados de venta libre.
