The fermented, savory, rugged dark fired and dark air cured Virginias provide a ton of earth, wood, tangy ripe and dried dark fruits, plenty of smoky barbecue, spice, vegetation, floralness, leather, some tangy stewed fruits, herbs, grass, bread, light tart and and tangy citrus, and a few sugar, tea, cigar and sour notes as the lead components. The flowery, floral toppings seem to include a little rose and possibly geranium among others. The sublimation of the tobaccos passes the medium mark by a couple of steps. Very strong and full in flavor, the nicotine level is very potent. It won’t bite or get harsh, but it does sport a few rough edges even though the toppings smooth some of them out. It needs a little dry time. It burns cool and clean at a slow rate with a very consistent, boldly deep and rich, sweet and savory, flowery, slightly acrid flavor that translates to the long lingering after taste, and strong room note. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires a fair number of relights. Not an all day smoke by any means. I suggest a small bowl for this one.

Gawith Hoggarth - Sliced Brown Bogie Aromatic.

The pouch contains prominently long strands of tobacco with some coins of the rope in there too. Sadly it needs airing, it's quite moist. The only real smell coming from the pouch is the floral essence, it has a fairly rosy aroma.

This is reflected well in the smoke, there is some Virginia flavour but primarily the taste is flowery. After about ten minutes it sadly becomes acrid, what begins as a floral enhancement becomes too much. It burns pretty decently, it only really requires the usual sporadic tamp. Do you smoke for nicotine? If your answer is 'yes' then I suggest you try this, it is easily recognizable albeit far too much for me! The room note is floral but again, like the N, it's too much for me.

I think this is a well blended tobacco that a lot of folks will love but it doesn't sit too well with me. Two stars.
