Very similar to Osborne 62. A light brown pure Virginia in a flake. Mainly flue cured with a small amount of dark fired. Strength is medium to strong.

The Danish Pipe Shop-Pure Virginia Flake.

As I'm unaware of how Osborne 62 smokes I can draw no comparison so this will be a review based on PVF alone.

The aroma from the two rows of wide flakes is a steadfast Virginia one; sprightly, lively and citrusy. There isn't anything extraordinary where the tin note is concerned. Nothing special but pleasing nevertheless.

The same goes for the colour of the flakes; medium brown with some flecks of light yellow.

I've had this tin for six months in my tobacco stash and the moisture's perfect. I suppose though, new or old, as it's a sealed tin it's going to be the same!

If you enjoy straight Virginia's such as Sam G' Full Virginia Flake or Dunhill Flake then I'm sure you'll love this. The flavour is a full/pure Virginia one.....Grassy, hay like, slightly sweet with a subtle cedar note.

Although it says there's a small amount of Dark Fired I can't detect any. It must have been added in a miniscule quantity!

The burn from this is very good. Consistent, even, and independent. Once it's lit, which is an easy task, it needs only a small amount of attention.

Nicotine sits dead on medium for me. I wouldn't say it qualifies as any more, it's medium even if big gulps of smoke are taken.

The room note is a straight up Virginia one. Not too heavy either so I don't need the windows opened wide!

This is a smashing blend. The only niggle I have is the tin it comes in is plain gold. Not even a sticker stating what's inside it! Now then guys at The Danish Pipe Shop, a blend this good deserves at least a label on it!

Highly recommended.
