An excellent Virginia/Kentucky combo! Silke 2 is a sturdy combination of medium brown Virginia tobaccos and full tasting Kentucky leaf. Natural, sweet and spicy. A fine alternative to Orlik's Dark Kentucky.

Paul Olsen - Silke 2 (My Own Blend).
I was expecting a flake as per the current description but the tobacco's more of a well broken flake/coarse cut mixture. The colours include a few yellow spots, lots of mid-browns, and a few dark brown pieces of broken flake. As is the norm with MOB the hydration's exemplary.
Lighting Silke 2 is a simple task and I find it a satisfying smoke from the word Go; basic, but satisfying. The flavour's mainly Kentucky, the Virginia sits way behind. I don't get any extra flavours or anything, it's a full-on purists smoke. This blend can bite a fair bit, it needs a gentle approach otherwise it can be quite belligerent!
Finally, it has quite a large amount of nicotine, and the room-note's okay.
This is a nice blend, it's not great enough for full marks, but it's good enough for three stars.
