Not much tobacco taste here. I got a slight vanilla note from the black cavendish. The cherry flavor has a little depth, but it also has a little syrupiness that I found distracting. Burns well and leaves a little moisture in the bowl. Doesn't bite. Has a nice room note. One and a half stars.

This is my favourite blend in the Pipa line of tobaccos and a hell of a deal no matter how you look at it. The package comes with a genuine Missouri Meeschaum cob and a pouch of cherry cavendish that will remind one of Smoker's Pride Cherry (which I happen to really like for some reason) and very akin to Capt Black Cherry. Now folks this is no blue ribbon winner if you place it next to the expensive imported tin tobaccos, but it burns cool with no bitterness and has lots of good cherry flavour so for 5 bucks it's definitely a 3 star package. I've bought several of these just as back-ups in the event I run dry or break my briar. Toss one in the hunting cabin, boat, tackle bag and the glove box in the pick up truck.

I acquired a pouch of this along with a new Missouri Meerschaum Missouri Pride cob for $2.00 and free shipping from P&C. Actually, the blend is better than expected. A mild to moderate cherry flavoring and some Cavendish. I could still taste the tobacco and could see keeping a pouch of this on hand to smoke while doing yard work. Not unpleasant for a bargain tobacco and no bite whatsoever. As one reviewer pointed out, each pouch comes with a Missouri Meerschaum Missouri Pride cob.
