Sutliff Tobacco Company Golden Dream D63
(2.50)
This wonderful blend is a straight forward burley with a touch of Virginia, pressed and tumbled out. The sweet nutty flavor of this incredibly mild and smooth blend will not disappoint. Golden Dream delivers the goods for real tobacco satisfaction.
Notes: Was previously sold as Altadis Golden Dream.

The nutty, earthy, woody, lightly molasses sweet burleys are the main components. The grassy, citrusy Virginia is a condiment. Seems there’s a drop or two of honey present. The strength is a couple of steps past the mild level. The taste is a hair stronger. The nic-hit is mild. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns fairly cool and very clean at a reasonable pace with a very consistent flavor, though it lacks depth. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant, short lived after taste and room note. An all day work and play smoke. Two and a half stars.

When P&C was out of Old Companion once, I picked up a pound of this. It looked like the same type of smoke. The tobacco came very dry, and I hydrated it. The cut is like a slightly more rubbed out MacB's Golden Extra.
Initially I smoked this as delivered and found it bland and hot smoking. Adding some moisture transformed it. It is a fairly simple VaBur on the Bur end of things. It is slightly sweet, but it is mostly tobacco flavored. I did not get any bitter or sour. It is a very pleasant smoke that is easy for me to puff on while driving or working in the office.
If you are looking for an "all-day" smoke that satisfies and does not challenge, this is a great choice. This falls in the same camp for me as Old Companion, Golden Extra, Natural Dutch Cavendish, etc.
