This flake tobacco is basically pressed, stoved Virginias. You get a nice rust red and a bright golden type and they are mixed in just the right quantity. I packed this as a flake surrounded by some rubbed flake for filling in the spaces. A quick light, a tamp and one relight were all that was needed.
First Third: A light smoky flavor with good sweetness. Smoke volume is OK, but isn't a 5 alarm fire, yet. No tongue bite, bowl is fairly cool.
Second Third: The sweetness of the Virginias starts to come to the forefront with a light dusting of smoky flavor. It's a really nice blend of creamy tobacco flavor and I find it hard to think that this has no Latakia in it. There's a healthy nicotine kick, but no peppery blasting of the throat and no tongue burning. The bowl got hot as I constantly wanted to toke it faster to get that great smoke going.
Last Third: The smokiness takes the center stage, supported by very rich caramelized sweetness. An absolute treat!
I got this from a local tobacconist and I will endeavor to find out if he blends it himself or gets it from somewhere else. Twilight is going into my rotation and is a welcome change of pace from overly heavy English blends and sweet, light aromatics.
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
