Full-bodied pipe tobacco contains golden Virginia, red Virginia and a touch of double-fermented black cavendish, carefully blended with Cyprus Latakia. This full-aroma mild tobacco is boldly flavored with highland whiskey.

Notes: Looks like first release was around beginning of 2000's, now it seems to be out of production.

Bought a ten years old can on occasion. It is a bit strange tobacco for me - its fine aroma and complicated, colorful taste are totally neglected by excessively hot burn and high moisture. Maybe these are consequences of aging, but i will not recommend this mixture to anyone who is not ready to smoke it carefully and with high attention to temperature.

Pipe Used: Jirsa Brandy

Age When Smoked: about 10

Ser Jacopo founder Giancarlo Guidi had K&K produce an English, an aromatic and a Scottish style triumvirate touting the Ser Jacopo name. I picked up all three of them from Iwan Ries in 2001 and English was a very interesting smoke. It boasted Latakia, Virginia and had a whiskey casing that made for a rather strange bedfellow for this one.

The taste was rather bland overall, but not a bad smoke and even had nuances of really interesting flavor as you worked your way down the bowl. On my old 1-10 scale I gave this one a 5. I've not seen a tin of any of these SJ blends in many years, so, I believe production was very limited.
