Blended from air cured number 1 grade AAA burley, golden cavendish and selected Virginias to create a mild to medium smoke. The addition of vanilla essence does exactly what it says. The room note is very pleasant and not too disturbing to non smokers.

The light grass and citrus from the gold Virginia leads the light dark fruit and earth from the red Virginia. In a secondary role is the nutty, woody, molasses sweet burley. The unsweetened black cavendish provides some brown sugar in a small support role. The vanilla topping sublimates the tobaccos a bit, though it slightly weakens near the finish. The strength and taste levels are a step closer to mild than they are to medium. Hardly has any nicotine. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with very smooth, fairly consistent flavor. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant after taste. An all day smoke that also makes a good mixer.

Have been a pipe smoker for about 30 years now and am a regular reader of tobacco reviews. I like to try different tobacco's as well as having my favourites. Am currently smoking this tobacco and find it good quality stuff, burns cool, starts of sweet with the vanilla taste, nutty woody nip, vanilla taste tails off. By the ending of the bowl it delivers a nice dark chocolate and leathery taste,no gunk. Hard to judge the strength ,maybe a good mild. Some nicotine towards the end but not much.

Century-Vanilla. As I've often said, "vanilla tobaccos are ten a penny" so I didn't hold out much hope for this and only purchased a 10g sample to avoid being stuck with a pouch full of something mundane and boring. After the first few puffs I kinda wished I had bought a full pouch! The vanilla is added heavily, it comes through full in both the taste and aroma. The flavour from the tobaccos is a very soft one with a natural creamy/nuttiness which works brilliantly along side the added vanilla. The nicotine is mild, if you want N then look elsewhere!! It's fair to say this is one of the coolest temperature smokes I have tried, is it really coming from something that's burning?!! I mentioned how the vanilla is also present in the room note, there is no mistaking or missing the vanilla there! As much as I think this will satisfy an expert with it's simple relaxing qualities I think that it would make a great first blend for any newbies with it's soft/tame nature. I was anticipating this to be a low scoring blend before smoking it but after a few bowls I think three stars is a fair result.
