Balanced tasted that's a touch "richer" than our blue with a wonderfully delicate flavor. A very palatable blend.

While I prefer Blue, Gold is tasty. That said, I did have to learn how to smoke this. If puffed quickly, this will get hot (so will Blue). Taking the time to puff slowly and gently, (as pipe smokers are supposed to do) it is actually good.

I also found that it can be tamed during one's training period that my Savinelli filter halped tame things a bit. Now I don't use the filter.

Developing the slow puffing habit pays off with other tobaccos.

I agree with the other reviews of this stuff. There is no taste of tobacco and leaves a lingering soapy taste on the palate. Not recommended.

Whereas Blue is decent, Red is better, Gold is too much of the wrong stuff. Very hot burning, and bitey for me.

Highly aromatic and extremely hot, I only smoked a couple of bowls of this before I gave it away. It actually burned so hot that it made little blisters pop up in the varnish of an old Kaywoodie. Tongue bite paradise...

Read my review of 3-Star Blue, turn the heat up a notch and you've got Gold. Or, in this case, pewter--as in peee-youu! I'll pass.

See my review on Three Star Blue. This is a more aromatic version of their most popular Blue Blend.
