I refer to this blend as "what happens when Pirate Kake hangs out in Frog Morton". Not because it is similar to those blends, but because this is the way I view it. I am a big fan of Pirate Kake and Frog Morton, but feel that PK is a blend only to be enjoyed sparingly and FM can be too sweet at times. Delta Mojo fits right in between the two. The latakia is definitely noticeable, but it is not overwhelming. The sweetness from the Virginias comes through during the entire smoke, but neither the sweetness of this blend nor the smokiness of this blend is overwhelming. If you like latakia, then you must try this one.

This blend has a peculiar moisture quality when the bag, or indeed whatever sort of container is containing the leafy baccy, because this is one of the more unique latakia blends available. Think of it like the perfect bridge between Latakia lovers and Virginia lovers, there's a little of both worlds, and there's some oriental and burley to make it even more interesting to experience. It is a surprisingly palatable Latakia smoke as well, and what I mean is that although it possesses similar qualities to some more faithful English blends, it somehow manages to stay smooth and not quite so "smokey" if you know what I mean. The Earthiness, the Sweetness, the Spiciness, the Tang when it all collects on your tongue, is delicious.

Upon arriving in Nashville Tennessee and leaving my home in Los Angeles this was my first tobacco purchase. And as I love latakia blends this was one I was excited to try. The tobacco in appearance is varied with light brown, brown, dark brown and black. Quite a plethera, yet in my mind it excites me to the possibilities of what may come. Packing is as easy as it comes. Lighting is the same. Very traditional for what could come naturally. Tasting the first smoke and you usually know if you'll like this blend. For me I knew right away that I'd love it and have it in my normal rotation. Very smooth, very, very smooth. I don't know if it is an aged tobacco they use or what but the smoothness is very similar to when I smoke an aged tobacco. Normally I wouldn't say a latakia blend is something to smoke as an all day smoke. But the smoothness of this wants me to say otherwise. I can easily smoke this 5 - 10 times in a day. It's that good. No sharp taste of latakia here, even though I really appreciate a sharp latakia blend such as SG Commonwealth or McConnell Pure Latakia. But the smoothness of it with the latakia and virginia and whatever else is in it makes it a winner. I've said it before, and ill say it again, the smoothness of this blend is what takes pressident for me.

Starting out as a pipe smoker, this was in the first batch of blends I tried, and it is still my favorite all around blend. Full bodied, complex, but easily palatable. After exploring other blends, I’d say its flavor triangulates somewhere between SPC plum pudding and Nightcap, with some notes neither of those have. I don’t see letting my supply run out of this top notch Latakia blend.
