Nice moist ribbon cut from the pouch, a very dark looking blend overall. The smell from the pouch is sweet, creamy, and a little fruity - a pleasant "grandpa tobacco" type smell. Maybe a bit of whisky nose, but pretty faint for me. Had a few problems getting it lit, but once I did it burned well. The sweetness was strongest at the start, but came and went to a lesser degree throughout the bowl. Only mildly aromatic in my opinion. A stronger smokiness developed about halfway through, and I enjoyed the last half of the bowl more because of that. No bite, and it didn't burn especially hot. Mild to medium nicotine hit - definitely noticed it at the start of the bowl, but it didn't knock me out by the end.
Overall, a good middle-of-the-road smoke which was pleasant but had nothing to really make it stand out. 2.5 stars, rounded down to 2.

Nice flavour of the sweet whisky casing. Generally very sweet and round, but you might as well buy some Werthers Original. I do miss other flavours than the casing, so this is not for me. As far as a mild-tasting American style aromatic goes, I guess it's perhaps what you'd expect. It is not a strong tobacco in terms of nicotine, but because of its mild taste, it is easy to forget that the nicotine hit is not far from average. It is wet and leaves some moisture in the bowl, but that's only to be expected from a this blend style. Tricky to light due to moisture level. No bite whatsoever and no foul taste. But what is there to love, really?
According to the man in the shop, Segar and Snuff, this and other blends in the shop are blended specifically for the shop by Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. I do think this tobacco is very similar to said blender's own American Whiskey. I am going to publish a review for that blend which is basically the same as this one.
Personally I am not a fan, and after having this stuff sitting around for a while, I gave it one last smoke and decided to chuck it. None of my pipe smoking friends cared for it either. Live is too short to for smoking tobacco you don't care fore.

Big surprise. I did exact one of overwhelmed aromatics, but it was taste. I bought it because Mr. in shop point it as one of their bestseller, so I took it. Cut was like waste from tobacco factory, smell was sweet, fruity, with hint of vanilla and some kind of alcohol. Man, smoke was great, what I had smelled before light, I had in taste for full of bowl. Cavendish with toping was leading component. I was not able to recognize Burley or VA in taste. Even moisture was relatively high, there was no need for preparation. Burned well till the end only with few amount of relights. No additional moisture in the bowl.
