For this 2013 Limited Edition Pipe Tobacco, Samuel Gawith have chosen a specially selected blend of Virginia tobaccos blended together with some sweet Black Cavendish and some good quality Burley tobacco with a Vanilla Creme flavour. To compliment the already smooth characteristic of this blend a soupcon of Almond essence has been added.

The result is a very smooth, medium strength tobacco with a good volume of smoke and a delightful room note.

Limited Edition run of only 15'000 tins worlwide.

This Limited Edition 2013 from Samuel Gawith is a very good compromise of English and aromatic. My tin was pleasantly dry but still fragrant with light floral vanilla and very mild almond. There was no heavy wet presence of humectant or sticky topping. The tobacco was easy to light and the smoke was cool and smooth. The tobacco taste was sweetly simple, but came through quite nicely. What it lacked in complexity of flavor was compensated for by fragrance, lack of bite, and the easy pleasure it brings. This is a relaxing, delightful smoke. For someone like me who prefers English blends, the seasonal aromatics offered at Christmas time each year are often too sweet and heavily flavored. This blend is a perfect alternative. Samuel Gawith Ltd. Ed 2013 is ideal for holiday gatherings and after dinner conversation. It will serve equally well with slippers, sweater, and a blazing fireplace. Because of it's limited production run, I thought I'd get a few tins to put aside - to age patiently and break open on winter holidays and evenings to come.

First of all a very nice tin the run is limited to 15,000 tins, so once it's gone it's gone for good. It comes in 100g tins with a painting of the company founder shame they have to put warning stickers on it. The tobacco is rather moist and may benefit from a little drying out it smells fantastic in the tin very much like Petersons Sun Set Breeze. When smoked the almond and vanilla creme come the forefront with the almond in the back ground and has a very nice sweet taste with no bite a rather fine aromatic, grab a tin before its all gone.

2013 ltd edition . This one I found delectable ! The unlit Tobacco has a good aromatic fragrance to it but it does not smell too false nor perfume like as some aromatics do . The mixture is of a great moistness level and very enticing aesthetically . It takes to the flame with ease and gives a superb even burn . The smoke is not too heavy with the aromatic side as you get a good aromatic hit of Vanilla and Almond but can still identify the different Tobaccos in it . It does not bite and can be inhaled with ease as well . Room note is very pleasing and not too heavy either so will not offend non-smokers . I find this to be a complete Apotheosis where Aromatics are concerned !Well done again Sam Gawith !

I'm always slightly cautious about buying 100g tins just in case I end up buying a bad tobacco. However, I decided to take the plunge with this as it had been a while since I had an SG and had something of a yearning for a limited edition one, so I took the plunge.

Upon receipt, I was very impressed with the tin, it has a certain robustness and compactness that I found striking while being nicely and attractively reserved in it's design. Almost seems to be worth the price of the tobacco alone. Things continue to look good as I removed the lid as a variety of colours in the tobacco and the sweet scent of vanilla with perhaps a hint of almond greeted my senses. The packing is easy, not a surprise given the fine cut and the lighting is no problem either - congrats to SG on this. The smoke itself continues in a similar vein delivering that good mild flavour of sweet vanilla with hints of almond. This flavour is consistent throughout both the bowl and the tin. Having had issues with this the last time I bought a 100g tin of an aromatic, I was pleasantly impressed by this. The room note, too, is a good one.

In summary, this is a good, mildly flavoured blend that still manages to satisfy very well. The only issue I have is that it's a little too nice, I have trouble resisting loading another bowl the moment I've finished. With such a big tin, though, that's not really a problem. It's a shame that it's such a limited run, otherwise it might be one to keep in my rotation. So if you're thinking of giving it a go, it's probably worth a getting a tin before it becomes unavailable for good.

Medio Media a Forte Completo Piacevole

In conclusione:
Ottima la persistenza degli aromi e dei profumi nell'aria.
Un buon prodotto per gli amanti delle miscele aromatizzate.
