Manufactured by spinning tobacco dark fired leaves into a rope.

Black Bogie, cooked longer than Brown Bogie which makes it milder with a smoky aroma, is a true old fashioned stout smoke, perfect, with a good strength more suited for the experienced pipe smoker.

Aromatic scented version.

I really was not happy with this , it may be that it just didn't suit me as i have read some good reviews about this but i wont be having it again .It did give a nice long and slow burn and was full to taste , alas the taste was not what i like as I found it far too heavy and imperious for my pallet !

What can I say? A very nice variation on the black bogie/twist theme. I am guessing that this is the unsliced version of the sliced black aromatic reviewed further down the page.

Possibly because it is unsliced, this one seems to retain its added flavour very well. Often with cased blends the flavours seem to burn off pretty early on, but with this one they can still be detected two thirds of the way down the bowl, adding sweetness and rounding out the flavour. I guess this applied essence is similar to that used on Kendal Flake. It obviously has a fair way to go in order to compete with the powerful tobacco flavours, but it seems to manage. All in all, it's very excellent.

The usual warnings about nicotine strength apply, but if you like black twists and lakeland flavours then get thyself to thy local tobacco emporium and insist that they acquire for you a length of black bogie aromatic - you'll enjoy it!

An easy four stars from me.

I smoked this one years ago when the G&H tobacco had to be sent to the USA by fellow tobacco friends in England because there was no formal importing. :Tough to describe" was the way I began my notes. Strong and oily with something more than an all tobacco taste. Of major concern (well, for me anyway,) was what to do with the rest of the tobacco? I finally decided to bury it in my neighbor's back yard. Please don't tell.
