The burleys are mildly nutty, with some molasses and a bit of earth. They take a light lead over the citrus and grass from the Virginia. The black cavendish offers a light vanilla. The champagne topping is mild, and does sublimate the tobaccos a little, though it weakens toward the finish. The artificial, syrupy berry topping competes with the champagne, and has a light sour note. The nic-hit is mild. Burns at a moderate pace, requires few relights, and leaves a little moisture in the bowl. The after taste is unattractive.

A really nice light blend, though not an every day smoke for me. This is a little tricky as it has to be dried JUST right to really be enjoyed. Too dry and it dries out your mouth while smoking it and tastes like and ash tray, too wet and it has a slight bite to it draws too much moisture up the stem. I hated my first bowl as I let it dry too much...I almost gave up on it right there. But persistance paid off and a few bowls later i found the sweet spot. For the purposes of the review, I'm assuming you smoke a few bowls and find that sweet spot...
And it does have a sweet spot... when just right the "french berries" come out, the black cavendish releases a delightful sweetness and the natural tobacco flavors settle quite nicely to compliment the mixture. As the bowl burns it seems to dance between the delightful light aromatic and the more natural tobacco scents. At times it shouts out to my aromatic side and then seemingly tries to pull me towards some natural flavorings.
This is no beginner blend as the moisture content changes this too much. But for those who can figure out how to open this blend up, you'll be treated to a nice complex little dance. Especially recommend this for those looking to break away from traditional sweet aromatics and start to explore less flavored blends.
Its biggest drawback to me is that natural tobaccos that come through after the bowl is out. My breath smells like I just smoked a cigarette and I very much dislike that as I'm not an every day smoker and don't want an ash tray mouth when I'm done. For most this may not mattter, but to me it does. Other than that I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to experiment a little and is looking for a little complexity in a light aromatic. Don't give up on it.. once you unlock the puzzle this has a lot to offer.
